We wanted to give you an update to the power ratings, and then take a look to see how the computer sees the next few weeks playing out. This is all up in the air, but as of right now, here is what we are looking at for the rest of the season. Again, this is using the computer to PREDICT the rest of the season from this point forward. This is not a “if the season ended today”.
- Grace Bible College – Mid West Region Champion
- Valley Forge Christian College – East Region Champion
- Kuyper College – Mid West Region At-Large
- Ohio Christian University – Mid East Region Champion
- Clearwater Christian College – South Region Champion
- Dallas Christian College – South West Region Champion
- Lancaster Bible College – East Region At-Large
- Florida Christian College – South Region At-Large
- Grace University – Central Region Champion
- North Central University – North Central Region Champion
- Multnomah University – West Region Champion
- Central Bible College – Central Region Automatic Bid
On the Bubble Teams – Teams that are within striking distance of grabbing an at-large bid, but need help.
- Maranatha Baptist Bible College – Mid West Region
- Hillsdale Free Will Baptist – South West Region
- Manhattan Christian College – Central Region
- Crown College (TN) – Mid East Region
- Moody Bible Institute – Mid West Region
Eliminated – These are teams that I believe are most likely out of the tournament no matter what, but came really close.
- Northland International University – Mid West Region
- Trinity Bible College – North Central Region
- Kentucky Christian University – Mid East Region
- Ozark Christian College – South West Region
- New Hope Christian College – West Region
***UPDATE***
With Dallas beating Hillsdale the computer believes now that Dallas will win the region, because of that Hillsdale would most likely get the next at-large-bid and therefore Florida Christian College would be left out of the tournament once again.
***UPDATE***
After finding out that Florida Christian College defeated Clearwater, that gives FCC their first legitimate win, over a power team. That has changed things yet again!

DCC just defeated hillsdale 74-65 and was up 18 at one point. Sensational six are doing big things. Give them the credit they deserve. They have also beat Manhattan, and Ozark. If you don’t believe now you will soon be believers!!! Let’s go DCC
How quickly people forget! It was just 2 weeks ago when Hillsdale defeated DCC by 12 and had leads of 15+ throughout the 2nd half. DCC scored the last 9 pts of the game vs Hillsdale’s reserves to make it a 12 pt game. Hillsdale has also defeated Manhattan and Ozark twice. Both were good games. I look forward to seeing them play round 3! The computer guru is letting his personal predictions get in the way for such a swing in power ratings between 2 teams over 1 game.
Florida Christian knocked off #4 Clearwater Christian last night. I think the Suns are in, whether they win the South or not.
I know FCC didn’t have the Holiday Tourney success they had hoped for in December losing to Grace, Valley Forge, and Clearwater. But they got All-American Terrence Taylor back in January and are playing good basketball.
I’ll say this about FCC: they are better than at least 50% of the teams we will see in Springfield, maybe more. Grace Coach Gary Bailey was extremely impressed with FCC and Clearwater in December….he told me they were better than any of the teams that he had seen in the Midwest Region which is a pretty big compliment.
Surely they can’t leave the Suns on the outside looking in 2 seasons in a row!?!?
Coop
Coop I just updated everything with that score, and Florida looks to be in, just like you said.
The only issue with Florida before tonight was that they had no significant wins. Now they do. That win was huge for that program.
I believe i said that via Twitter… lol
You would be right! haha sorry for stealing!
Just saw that my CRUSADERS from Dallas just upset a VERY good Hillsdale squad!
Way to go fellas! Keep it up!
Sincerely,
Christian Lawyer

Hillsdale is an entirely different team at home. That has been true back to the Kelly Archer days. Just cant see Dallas beating them on their home floor in Regional Championship. Stranger things have happened however.
Where is the Central Region tourney hosted? It’s really unfortunate that Central Bible will steal a bid from a deserving at-large team. No conjecture needed on that point, because I know the reasons behind it, etc. I just think it’s unfortunate.
And the DCC loss, was the first NCCAA II road lose this year. They are 5-1 for the season in road games vs NCCAA II teams!
The Central Region Toury will be at CBC this year.
After seeing both teams play, there is no question that Florida Christian is better than Maranatha. If it comes down to those two teams, FCC will get the nod.
Does Crown College (TN)still have a legitimate
shot at making nationals even though they lost to KCU by 7 AND OCU by 14 last week?
if they win regionals… but they dont have a big win on the resume as much as it pains me to say.
Dallas Christian only have 5 players. That other big guy is irrelevant. I don’t even know why they let him play.
I’m guessing MBBC’s loss to Lincoln Christian Thursday night moves them off the bubble. They will have to do something special at the regional tournament to re-enter the discussion.
Yeah, they were up high because one big win could catapult them in, but also being the 3rd team in the MW meant they had a slim margin for error. That was not good for them.
Wow, we must have posted these simultaneously!
Maranatha’s loss to Lincoln last night sealed the deal for any chance they had at an at-large. Only way in now is to win the region and I just don’t see wins over Kuyper and Grace on what would likely be their 2nd and 3rd games on consecutive nights.
Does anyone know who is seeded 4-7 in the Midwest for the regional tournament?
1. Kuyper
2. Grace
3. Northland
4. Moody
5. Great Lakes
6. Maranatha
7. Lincoln
8. Emmaus
First Round – Thursday at Northland
2 pm Moody vs Great Lakes
4 pm Grace vs Lincoln
6 pm Kuyper vs Emmaus
8 pm Northland vs MBBC
MW region is Kuyper Grace Northland Moody Great Lakes Maranatha Lincoln Emmaus
Looks like Hillsdale got back on a roll again by taking 2 wins on the road in Springfield this weekend vs BBC and CBC. The “road warriors” have a 7-1 record vs NCCAA II opponents on the road. That, combined with DCC’s road loss @ Rhema, should take them off the bubble and put them back where they belong as a solid member of the top 10!!
Dallas Christian to win the SW regional tourney? Not this year, eliminated by Ozark Christian
Does anyone know what the highest seed an atlarge can get in the tournament?
