Men’s Basketball: Justin’s Tournament Predictions

Good afternoon everybody.  I’m going to go ahead and take a shot at this predicting thing.  So here goes nothing…

Round One Games

(8) Kentucky Christian vs. (9) Lancaster Bible
Pick: Kentucky Christian
I have a feeling this game might surprise some people. Don’t be surprised if Lancaster puts up a fight and this game is a lot closer than most people expect.

(5) Ohio Christian vs. (12) Portland Bible
Pick: Ohio Christian
Coming off a Mideast Region Championship, I think Ohio Christian will continue to play well and not have too many issues with this game.

(6) Valley Forge vs. (11) Manhattan Christian
Pick: Manhattan Christian
I’m preparing to take a lot of heat on this one. But I really believe Manhattan can win this game if they continue to play disciplined defense and rebound well.

(7) Atlanta Christian vs. (10) Faith Baptist
Pick: Atlanta Christian
I like this to be one of the most exciting games of the first round. Faith will be looking to prove they belong in this tournament, but I like Atlanta to pull out a close win here.

Round Two Games

(1) Grace Bible vs. (8) Kentucky Christian
Pick: Grace Bible
As the two-time defending National Champions, don’t expect Grace Bible to go down in their first game.

(4) Dallas Christian vs. (5) Ohio Christian
Pick: Dallas Christian
Ohio’s defense may be good, but I like Dallas’ athleticism in this matchup.

(3) North Central vs. (11) Manhattan Christian
Pick: North Central
With really good guard play, I think North Central will be able to break down Manhattan’s defense in this high scoring game.

(2) Central Bible vs. (7) Atlanta Christian
Pick: Central Bible
With home court advantage and a disciplined style of play, I expect Central Bible to move on to the semi-finals.

(1) Grace Bible vs. (4) Dallas Christian
Pick: Dallas Christian
Yep, you read that correctly.

(2) Central Bible vs. (3) North Central
Pick: North Central
I like North Central to win this rematch.  Back in January, Central Bible pulled out a 2 point win in a high scoring game. I still like a close game, but this time North Central getting the win.

 (4) Dallas Christian vs. (3) North Central
Pick: Dallas Christian
With athleticism everywhere and great coaching, I like Dallas Christian to continue their run in Springfield and leave as the National Champions.

Well there you have it.  I like to think of this as the Charles Barkley bracket: creating controversy.  Even though I have the top 4 seeds advancing to the semi-finals, I would keep an eye out for a couple of upsets from that point on.  I really feel that this is a year when just about anybody and everybody has a legitimate shot at winning the title.

But now I’m sure you can’t wait to state your disagreements, so I won’t keep you.  Let the debate begin!
