Happy New Year everyone, and we have a gift for you. For the first semester, we have compiled the stats and have completed the first semester player rating. Here are the top 25 players according to the computer. Check it after the jump.
*The player rater is a formula that takes into account team power rating, and statistical performance. Each stat is weighted to what we believe is a more impactful stat on the outcome of their team’s performance.
1. Brandon Byars – F – Jr. – Ohio Christian University
Byars is a big reason why OCU is doing so well this year. Many people think Byars is a player of the year candidate, and the player ratings really like him as well. He is a versatile player that does a lot of things on the floor.
2. Allen Durham – F – Sr. – Grace Bible College
Durham is the favorite for player of the year, but it’s not a lock like it has been in the past. Byars has similar stats on a team that is performing very well. The one thing about Durham is that his statistics show that he is pretty dominate in the post, but his perimeter play has improved as well. That fits with what we have heard.
3. Casey Jones – G – Sr. – Kentucky Christian University
Casey Jones is carrying KCU. He is involved in 81% of his team’s positive possessions. He is very effective on the perimeter, but the thing that makes Jones so lethal is that he is not just a perimeter player. He makes plays all over the court.
Freshman of the Year Race
- Jamal Mayfield – G – Piedmont Baptist Bible College
- Luke Brigham – G – Clearwater Christian College
- C. J. Baxter – G – Clearwater Christian College

Pretty ballsy to put someone above Durham. Don't make him angry.
Byars is a stud. Looks like our secret is out of the bag.
Lol, 1st Durham doesn't care i'm sure, 2nd it's not an opinion article so they didnt PUT anyone anywhere… 3rd the other guys on GBC are playing very well to help AD out. maybe his stats are down just a bit i'm not sure but its a stats formula. i find it crazy/pretty cool that its Byars Durham and Jones then a huge drop! im sure when we get in regional play it will probably be even more separation.
can we get a run down of the standings… or like a standings page on here… the NCCAA page is slow! and doesnt help see region by region. you know… it'll give yall something else to do
How about we start paying more attention to great lakes
I saw Great lakes play a few times this year, but heard they lost 4 guys from first semester.
"Random Guy," can you give us some reasons to pay more attention to GL rather than just throwing out "random statements'?
I am interested.
